I still wish there was a more concrete way to avoid something like this happening in the future but I think paying attention to torque and being on alert any time a seemingly unrelated incident occurs is good advice. | |

Also, if you think of the overall clamping load, one bolt at "high" torque is somewhat analogous to multiple bolts at "low" torque | |
