Will 45mm WTB riddlers on wide 28mm internal width rims fit between the rear chainstays of the Salsa Warbird?

I'm building a set of monstercross wheels for my Salsa Warbird, but before purchasing the new 28mm wide carbon wheels, I wanted to verify that the wheels will fit the Warbird. The Salsa Warbird has 50mm of clearance in the back between the chainstays. According to this Bikerumor article, wheels increase in width .4mm for every 1mm. That brings the wheels to 47mm wide. I also called WTB and they confirmed that the tires would be between 47mm and 49mm. However, in this picture below from an article where the Riddlers are on 20mm wide rims, it looks like a very close fit.

While it will fit according to the math, I wanted to confirm whether this will work in the real world.

While there are tables and rules of thumb, when you get down to a specific case it's a crapshoot, if the tables are saying it will be close. – Daniel R Hicks May 18 '18 at 22:12

Wheels and frames flex under power. You always need a bit extra clearance as a result – Rider_X May 18 '18 at 23:18

If they fit statically, you'll need to keep an eye on it for frame rub. Also, do you ride mud a lot? That will increase your tyre's effective size. – Criggie May 18 '18 at 23:52
  • Look at that fit on the left side, looks like more than 1,5 mm , I'd say it's around 5mm, but you have 1,5 mm to each side with your more optimistic prevision.and you say it's already close.... – gaurwraith May 19 '18 at 0:15
