Trying to sell my brothers specialized tarmac sl2 to help with his funeral expenses but cannot find the Bill of Sale to determine what he bought it for. For now, just identifying the year and if there is a sub-model identification to help my understand what it's value may be. Does anyone know what year..model..this bike is?...thank you.

Hi, welcome to SF&F. It would be better if you uploaded the pictures directly instead of screencaps of landscape pictures in portrait mode. Failing that, please edit out the huge black bars on the top and bottom. A picture of the drive side showing the components would also help a lot.

Please post photos, not screenshots of photos. I've edited this manually for now. This will likely be closed as "off-topic" because we don't do bike valuations. Instead, list it on ebay or another auction site with a $1 start and its worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it.

I'd guess it no newer than 2012 - based on the shifters and side-exit for shifter cables. The newer ones put all that under the bartape for a cleaner look. Your other option is to ride the bike yourself, or keep it in the family to help remember your brother. Sorry for your loss.

Scan the results on buycycle.com/en-us/shop/search/tarmac%20sl%202 . That will give you an idea of market value. Commented Jul 10 at 7:17
  • You might also take this to a local bike shop to ask what value it may bring. A Specialized dealer could likely be a good start, but any bike shop should be able to at least give you an idea. They may know of customers/other riders that are looking for a non-new bike to save on a purchase. They may even offer to sell it on consignment as well.
