I started my career as an IBM mainframe systems programmer writing in 370 Assembler. Also very familiar with JCL, REXX, and SAS.

I prefer Linux as my main OS. I currently use Ubuntu 14.04 and have used Suse, OpenSuse, and CentOS. In retirement, I have taught myself PHP, Perl, some HTML, some JavaScript, and took a course in C++ at a local tech college.

I have a server to handle backups from my desktop, laptop, and a Mac in the house. This server also manages printing and using a VM, runs a web site I use for fun (no domain name).
